Hibs boss says County game is biggest yet

The Easter Road outfit take on First Division County in the quarter-finals and Hughes knows that his players will have to be on top of their game if they want to book a place in the last four.

Hughes was at Stark's Park last night to watch County go down 2-1 to Raith Rovers in a league match but warned that Derek Adams' side showed enough to prove that they will make it extremely difficult for Hibs on Saturday.

He said: "I watched Ross County play last night and there's no doubt that we are going to have to be on top of our game if we want to get through to the next round.

"I was really impressed with them. I know that they lost the game but they were well organised and they have got a lot of good, talented players in their ranks. They even had a very strong bench last night so that shows that they have got a bit of strength in depth as well.

"They're doing well in the league right now as well and they will want a good cup run to go with that.

"They will be dangerous and we will only get out of the game what we put into it, so we will have to give it absolutely everything that we have got."

And Hughes is urging Hibs supporters to run out in their numbers to help cheer their side on.

He wants supporters decanted from the East Stand into other parts of the stadium to turn up the noise and continued: "I noticed in the game against Kilmarnock that a lot of the fans from the East Stand had gone in behind the goals and they were making a lot of noise.

"That's what we need from them again this weekend."
