Ofir Marciano - 6

The Israeli stopper didn’t have much to do other than a couple of routine saves.

A couple of shaky moments in the first half, where he was beaten by Euan Henderson and Kyle Lafferty in separate attacks, but settled down in the second half. Unlucky not to score with a snapshot blocked by Connor Randall.

Efe Ambrose - 8

Excellent performance from the centre-back who never put a foot wrong. Always seemed to be in position to make an interception and was composed on the football throughout.

Paul Hanlon - 7

Struggled a little in the first half with the physicality of Lafferty and was booked for tripping Jamie Walker on the edge of the penalty box. He improved after the break, making a number of key clearances.

Lewis Stevenson - 7

Didn’t put a foot wrong from start to finish and made a couple of perfectly-weighted passes down the wing for Brandon Barker to run on to.

Marvin Bartley - 8

Again the big man impressed in an Edinburgh derby. Though he didn’t have too much to do in the first period, as Hearts sat deep for most of it, he came alive after the break. Made a number of impressive tackles and generally bullied his Hearts counterparts.

Dylan McGeouch - 9

Ran the show in the centre of the park. Even in the 110mph nature of this game, he always managed to find space to receive the ball and rarely missed a pass. Furthermore, he battled as hard as anyone in the centre. A deserved man of the match.

John McGinn - 7

Hearts singled out the Hibs talisman as the one to stop, and they certainly curtailed his involvement during the opening hour. However, McGinn grew into the match as things began to get stretched and was very unlucky not to score with a low shot saved by Jon McLaughlin.

Brandon Barker - 7

The on-loan Manchester City wideman had a dream start to his Edinburgh derby debut, notching assist for Simon Murray’s goal. Tired towards the end but caused Hearts numerous problems down the left flank in both halves.

Martin Boyle - 8

Terrorised young Jamie Brandon at the left-back position, ultimately knocking the full-back from the game. The only downside to his performance was a lack of final ball at times.

Simon Murray - 7

Scored a terrific opening goal and brought his unique brand of energy to the attack, chasing everything, running the channels and working himself into the ground. Was caught offside on a few occasions.

SUBSTITUTES

Deivydas Matulevičius - 7 - Brought on to add some physicality to the side and held the play up well.

Vykintas Slivka - n/a - 90th minute sub.
