Hiadlovsky to stay for next season

After back-stopping Edinburgh Capitals to their first play-off appearance in three years, goalie Tomas Hiadlovsky, today agreed a deal with the club that will see him return to Murrayfield for the 2013-14 season.

The popular 24-year-old
Slovakian, signed last summer by player-coach Richard Hartmann on the strength of a recommendation from brother, and former ice hockey
Olympian, Eduard Hartmann, said: “I enjoyed my first season in Edinburgh, we made the play-offs, and we played some great hockey, especially over the last three months. I really appreciate all the support the fans have given me, they’re great, and I’m looking forward to playing in front of them again next year.”

Coach Hartmann said of his latest capture: “Tomas had a great first season as a starting goalie and improved steadily all year. He played the last few months like a seasoned professional and his experience from this year will make him even better next. I’m confident we have a quality, solid, goal-tender who gives us a chance every night. We had a great dressing-room this year and Tomas has been a popular member of the squad.”
