Henry leads EuroPro Tour qualifying field

CLYDEBANK'S Scott Henry made light of a late change of venue to lead the field after the opening round of the PGA EuroPro Tour's qualifying school stage one at Oulton Hall yesterday.

The qualifier was moved to the Leeds course after Slaley Hall near Newcastle was swamped by rain but former Scottish Strokeplay champion Henry took the change in his stride and fired a three-under 68. The Cardross rookie finished two shots clear of English trio Alex Belt, Rhys Davies and Haminder Mathura. Colville Park's Paul O'Hara sits in eighth spot at the halfway stage after a one-over 72.
