Alan Nelson, Gilmerton: "As much as I'm delighted at the legend's return, I'm also disgusted at the way Csaba Laszlo has been forced out and wish to thank him for all he has done at Hearts."

Jim Ross: "I'm sorry but not surprised that Csaba has gone. As for Jim Jefferies, we have a manager who not only wants to be here but really cares for Hearts. Let's hope that the players will respond in the same way as the fans will to this appointment."

Wee Keith, Albion Terrace: "It was great to see JJ back with the Jambos. The only sad points were the way the team played and the result. Will there be life after Csaba Laszlo? If there is, it is not going to be easy for Jim. He is very much his own man, with grit and determination, but he'll be dealing with a man called Romanov, who cannot be told anything. Laszlo did not do a bad job but he was not allowed to be in charge. Let's hope JJ has more luck in getting what he wants – and we all know what that is, a player or two who can score regularly and not just now and then, as has been happening. I saw Jim play at Tynecastle and later become boss and I wish him, as we all do, all the best for his second stint."

Vince Hannah, Midlothian: "I'm over the moon to see Jim Jefferies back home at Tynecastle where he belongs."

Hearty Harry, Edinburgh: "I worry that Vlad will bring a good man down. The problem with the club is beyond even the messiah Jefferies."

Car, Elphinstone: "Great to have JJ back. Jim, you've got your work cut out but you can get Hearts beating again."
