THE dire display at Fir Park has irked Hearts fans..

Jim Ross: "Well, we can't blame the referee for Fir Park not being a level playing field. The state of the park puts players at risk, and must be looked at by the SPL. This, however, can not be an excuse for the poor marking for the first two goals. At least we saw a cracking goal from David Templeton."

Brian Duffy, Slateford: "JJ was right to read the riot act to the players after last weekend's performance. It's not inconsistency which is the problem – the Jambos have been consistently disappointing. Some players seem to think that the season has finished and are content to settle for a top-six finish. A few of them will get a wake-up call come contract renewal time. Hearts desperately need Michael Stewart and Ruben Palazuelos back. When those two are running things in the middle Hearts are a different team."

Neil, Edinburgh: "I would rather play with no forwards at all than have Elliot or Mole in the Hearts team. Jeff has to bin them as soon as possible. They have no touch, pace or goal threat between them."

Another supporter is far from impressed with the new manager's record..

John Fraser, Prestonpans: "Vladimir Romanov is reported to be very happy with the start made by Jefferies which now amounts to five defeats in eight games! Laszlo's record was positively outstanding by comparison. It is a pity that he (Laszlo] was apparently unwilling to comply with directives on matters such as the selection of players – eg Goncalves. It seems the ability to follow orders from above could well be of more importance than results in determining success or failure in the job."
