Hearts: Your Say

Scott Clelland, Ingliston: "Poor stuff from Hearts. We got caught napping from the start and gifted them an early goal. After that, we responded really well and we deserved the equaliser from Suso. I thought that we were the better team at that stage but then we shot ourselves in the foot and gave away such a sloppy goal.

"Despite that, we kept battling and I felt at half time that we could still take something from the game. However, the players didn't keep up the same level of performance and I think that we allowed the heads to drop after they got their third at the start of the second half. We just didn't put enough effort in and we made it easy for Rangers to knock the ball about unchallenged.

"It was such a letdown after we put in such a good shift against Hibs last weekend. I'm sure that Jim Jefferies will be really angry with our lax attitude in the second half. Hopefully, we'll get a good response from the players at Paisley next weekend. That looks like being a really important game within the context of the battle to make the top six."

Mark McLean, Dalkeith: "I'm obviously disappointed that we've lost the game but I think that the scoreline flattered Rangers a wee bit. I thought that we were excellent in the first half but we didn't get much luck. We dominated possession and had a couple of good chances but we missed our chances and it proved to be costly. On another day, we might have gone in at half time leading but we made a couple of really basic errors at the back and that meant we found ourselves behind at the interval. We got off to the worst possible start in the second half and you always knew that it would be a long way back for us after Rangers got their third.

"We had a good chance through David Obua and, if we'd scored then, we might have been able to put a wee bit of pressure on them but that didn't happen. This result is a setback for us but it's important that we don't allow the heads to drop. One more win will probably be enough to secure a place in the top six and it's important that we try to bounce back and get the points against St Mirren next week."

Adrian Stevens, Straiton: "We certainly look much better going forward since JJ came in but the downside to that is we don't look as tight at the back and that was badly exposed here.

"It was really disappointing that we lost such cheap goals because the link up play between Suso, Glen and Obua at times was excellent and there is no doubt that we unsettled the Rangers backline at times. However, our kamikaze defending gave us too much work to do and Rangers had too much quality in the final third of the pitch.

"I thought bringing Zaliukas back into the side would have helped us steady the ship at the back but he clearly wasn't fit enough. Larry Kingston put in another decent display and he was our man of the match."
