Hearts: Your Say

Alan Grant, Craigmillar: "I wasn't happy at all with the performance so I'll settle for a draw from this game. In the last couple of games, we were excellent in the first half but we never really got into it before the break here. To be fair, St Mirren weren't much better but Carey hit a fantastic free-kick and you can't really legislate for that.

"We were the better side in the second half although St Mirren had a few chances of their own. We have opened the door for St Johnstone to leapfrog us now and we'll just need to hope that they don't take it. If we beat Kilmarnock next Saturday, I'd be surprised if that isn't good enough to get us into the top six."

Kevin Cosgrove, Dalkeith: "A draw was probably a fair result but it probably doesn't suit either team. There wasn't really much between the teams and I think that injuries, particularly the absence of a powerful ball-winner in the middle of the park, gave us a few problems.

"I was quite concerned at half time because we'd really struggled to test St Mirren's defence and it was hard to see how we were going to get back into the game. We stepped up a gear in the second half and getting a goal so early on was a big boost. Zaliukas missed a great chance to score direct from the corner but the ball broke to Suso and he put in a brilliant cross and Marius was in a perfect position to score. Suso was quiet in the first half but he was excellent for us in the second half. When he is on his game, he's such an exciting player. He is quick and direct and he had the beating of Carey. He has improved so much since JJ has come in and I think that he looks more comfortable in the side now that there is more emphasis on getting forward. He was the man of the match."

Robert Jones, Westfield: "I'm pleased to have taken a point here because we were a long way short of the type of performance that we're capable of. The performance was a big disappointment because when I saw Suso and Driver both in the starting XI, I was looking for a great display but that never materialised. We didn't get the ball down and pass it and we didn't use the wings anywhere near as much as I would have liked.

"The first half was awful and we couldn't have complained had we been out of the game at half time. I think JJ must have said something because we looked to play with a lot more urgency and we got the reward just after half time.

"We had a couple of really good efforts on goal from distance and then Calum Elliot was unlucky not to score with a header right at the death. The pleasing thing in this game was that we didn't really waste our chances. We had decent attempts on goal and made their keeper work. On another day, those chances might have gone in. They didn't here but at least we're going away from home and looking to win games now and creating openings."
