Hearts: Your Say

Davie Dewar, Newington: "After the season we've had to endure, it's just nice to make it into the top six and, on the basis of that performance, we thoroughly deserve to be there. I thought that we started the game well and took the match to Kilmarnock.

"We had a couple of good early chances but we missed them. We got a really good goal through Suso though, and I think that we were good value for our lead at that time.

"Christian Nade had a couple of really great chances to put the game to bed for us and he probably should have done better with them and Killie nearly punished us for it but Jamie MacDonald made a terrific save. We had other chances late on as well through Robinson and Templeton but, fortunately, those misses didn't prove costly. On the whole, I feel that we're moving in the right direction under JJ. It was important to secure our place in the top six and with Motherwell struggling and Hibs in freefall, a European place might not be beyond us just yet."

Gary Stewart, Gilmerton: "I'm pleased with the performance and the result here. I thought that the players applied themselves really well and there's no doubt that we completely deserved to win the game. I thought that in the first half in particular, we kept possession well and we really used our width to our advantage. In the second half, I didn't think that we played with the same fluency but we were still well on top.

"It was really disappointing to see Andy Driver pull up again and I hope that it doesn't prove to be too serious. My man of the match was Eggert Jonsson. Once again this season, we've asked Eggert to play in a few different positions and he has never let us down.

"He was brilliant again and is the best right back that we have at the club and it would be great to see him given a regular game in that position between now and the end of the season. Life in the top six will be tougher than it was on Saturday but, hopefully, we can make a good account of ourselves and pick up a few points."

Colin Stewart, Gilmerton: "A good performance from Hearts. I thought that we looked a wee bit nervous early on and Kilmarnock had a couple of half chances. However, Suso's goal settled us down and although we weren't able to kill the game off, I thought that we always looked comfortable.

"The atmosphere in the stadium would have been a lot more on edge if we'd needed to hold on for the win but I think that the pressure was taken off because we knew that a point was good enough to secure our top six place.

"The mistake that the referee and linesman made at the end of the game with the offside decision against Obua was absolutely criminal. It didn't matter in the end because we won the match but it's absolutely shocking that officials make such glaring errors.

"The most important thing, though, is that we managed to secure another win. Our home form under JJ, apart from the defeat against Rangers, has been excellent and, hopefully, we can build on that again next season."
