Hearts: Your Say

Graham Joyce, Dalkeith: "A bitterly disappointing performance from Hearts. There was a lot of pressure on us ahead of the game because we knew that it was a must-win match for us and we have failed to pick up the points.

"I thought that we started quite well and we looked to take the game to United. In the early stages, we managed to carve out two or three good chances but we missed them.

"The longer the game went on, I thought that we got a bit nervy but we still managed a couple of decent efforts on goal and we were maybe a wee bit unlucky not to get the goal. However, over the season, we've not been good enough.

"There has been improvement since JJ came in but we still struggle to score goals and our inability to score goals has been our Achilles' heel all season long. Obviously there's nothing to play for against Celtic but I hope that we can still put in a good display against them and finish an otherwise poor season on a high."

Michael Page, Sighthill: "If Saturday's win against Hibs was the party, last night's performance was definitely the Hearts hangover.

"It was one of those games where we never looked like scoring and we could have played all night and not scored. For me, the biggest miss was Larry Kingston. In the last few weeks, Larry has shown that he is someone who can put his foot on the ball and take the sting out of the game and pick a pass. When he plays, he bosses the midfield and we didn't have anyone who was doing that for us.

"The man of the match was Lee Wallace. Lee has really improved this season and he is the most consistent player at the club. To be honest, I think that we will really struggle to hold on to him for next season but I really hope that we do. He's a brilliant player and I would definitely like to see him made captain for next season.

"The season is all over bar the shouting now and we'll find it tough on Sunday but we've done okay against Celtic this season and it'd be nice to finish with a win."

Graeme McIver, Galashiels: "That was a performance that pretty much summed up our season. We huffed and puffed for long spells but we were really poor in the final third and we never really looked capable of scoring.

"We tried to pile pressure on late in the game and got bodies forward but, in the end, it looked as if Dundee United were going to hit us on the break with the sucker punch. Near the end of the game, we got ourselves into good shooting positions on a few occasions but nobody was willing to shoot.

"For me, the problems that we have with scoring goals were there for everyone to see again last night and they've plagued us all season. I don't mind that we've not qualified for Europe – to be honest, I'm not sure how well we would have acquitted ourselves with that squad.

"The most important thing now is that JJ gets the players away, has a good pre-season working with them and has us ready for next season."
