Hearts: The Final Answer

We asked fans which role best suits David Obua in Jim Jefferies' Hearts line-ups ...

Mark Fullerton, Gilmerton: "I am not sure what Obua's best position is. He did well as a striker against Falkirk but that was just one game. He deserves a run in the team in a striking role, though."

Craig Inglis, Westfield: "We were told that Obua was a left-sided midfielder when he joined but he has been consistently poor there. I think with his aerial ability, he could be a decent target man like Kevin McKenna was despite it not being his natural position."

John Markham, Dalry: "I will reserve judgement until Obua has had more of an opportunity to impress under JJ. However, I've seen nothing so far to suggest that he is good enough for Hearts so he has a lot to do to prove himself."

Brian Laird, Newington: "I feel that Obua's game is more suited to a striker's role. His crossing ability is very poor for a winger but he was a handful against Falkirk with his physical presence."

Simon Wallace, Tollcross: "I don't think it's right to make a snap judgement on his ability as a target man based on one game. What is clear is that he's not good enough to play in midfield. Hopefully, he will do more as a forward."

Robert Lynn, Riccarton: "I feel that Obua is better as a striker than he is in midfield. With Nade now likely to be frozen out, there will be a decent chance for him to hold down a place in the team."

Claire Bollan, Duddingston: "I feel that Obua would be excellent in the hole, just behind the strikers. I think that he could be a good link between midfield and attack in a positive line-up."

Gary Reid, Gracemount: "I feel Obua is too clumsy to be a striker and I want to see what he can do as a wide player under Jefferies. He is naturally attack minded and players like that were wasted under Laszlo."

George Brodie, Leith: "If Obua can reproduce the type of display he produced against Falkirk, he can hold down the striker role until the summer but I can't see him being any more than a squad player next season."
