Hearts lose keeper coach

HEARTS have parted company with their Lithuanian goalkeeping coach Arturas Ramoska, who has left to continue his career outwith Scotland after three successful years at Tynecastle. Alan Carswell, the club's Under-19 goalkeeping coach, will assume first-team duties temporarily.

Ramoska joined Hearts in 2008 following Csaba Laszlo's appointment as manager and worked alongside the Hungarian as well as his successor, Jim Jefferies. His work with goalkeepers Marian Kello, Jamie MacDonald, Janos Balogh and Mark Ridgers has helped their development but the Lithuanian now intends to progress his own career.

"I have enjoyed my time at Hearts but I feel that this is now the right opportunity for me to move on to pursue my career elsewhere in the world," said Ramoska. "I would like to thank the management and players for all their support during this time and wish them all the best for the future."

Jefferies said: "Arturas has been a great support to us since we joined the club and we know he will do very well at whichever club he moves on to."

Ramoska will have plenty opportunities to coach in eastern Europe following a successful playing career with FBK Kaunas. He holds a UEFA Pro-licence and managed the Lithuanian club during their championship-winning season in 2007. He has also coached the Lithuanian Under-21 side.

Meanwhile, the former Hearts midfielder Larry Kingston is in talks about a return to the Ghanaian club Hearts of Oak. The 30-year-old is currently a free agent since being released by Vitesse Arnhem of Holland in December. "It's true we have been talking to him. You know he's a free agent after the transfer window was shut in Europe and elsewhere and so we're hoping he can sign for us till the end of the season so he keep fit," said Alhaji Suleiman Braimah, a Hearts of Oak director. "We want him to use his experience to help the young ones in the team.

"At least we have nine matches to go and at this stage anything can happen and so we need all the forces we need to help us make the top four at least."

Kingston held contract talks with Blackpool during the January transfer window but a move to Bloomfield Road failed to materialise.
