Hearts legend Robbo's goal is to return to management

HEARTS goalscoring legend John Robertson remains focused on returning to full-time management despite lending his expertise to Highland League club Clachnacuddin.

As well as coaching strikers at both Dundee United and Hearts on a non-contract basis, Robertson has agreed to a consultancy role at the Inverness club.

Chairman Alan Savage employs the 45-year-old as a business development manager for his UK recruitment agency, Orion Group, and hopes his vast experience can help Clach as they prepare to come out of administration. Robertson will be assisted by Inverness' former head of youth development Danny MacDonald

"Both Danny and I work for Alan and all we are trying to do, first and foremost, is to help get Clach Football Club back on a firm financial footing.

"We will be looking to improve the infrastructure of the club all the way up from the tremendous youth set-up they have under John Beaton. John is a terrific guy and we will have a chat with him to see where we can help improve what is already a very good model.

"Both Danny and I will be there as a sounding-board for Clach manager Iain Polworth.

"I am still very keen to get back into full-time football management. I believe I have the ability and my track record proves I can manage football clubs, so all we are trying to do is assist Clach to get them back on a sound footing and help them technically.

"I will do my media work as usual.

"If Iain Polworth picks up the phone I will be very willing to help him with practical advice and assistance, but that is no more than I am currently doing with the forwards at both Dundee United and Hearts."
