Hearts: Final Answer

Should Jefferies scour the lower divisions in Scotland for Hearts signings?

Paul Currie, Newcraighall: "It's always a bit of a hit and miss strategy to bring players up a division but JJ is the manager so we need to trust him to bring in players who will improve the squad. If he wants to sign lower league players, Vlad and the fans should back him."

Robbie Hodges, Dalry: "I think we need to be realistic about our signing targets and, if we don't have much to spend, players from teams below us in the SPL and lower leagues might be the best we can afford."

Tony Miller, Clermiston: "JJ is a really experienced manager and he made it work for him before. So, if he can do it again, why shouldn't he look at players from the lower leagues? JJ seems to have great knowledge of the lower divisions and, if we can tap into that for Hearts' benefit, that would be great."

Archie Monk, Riccarton: "I don't mind where the players come from as long as they are of good enough quality to pull on a Hearts shirt. I'd rather sign another Ryan Stevenson than another David Witteveen. Players like Ryan are hungry and have more desire to succeed."

Katie Lyall, Morningside: "I don't see JJ relying too heavily on picking up players from the lower division but, if he is capable of unearthing a gem or two from the lower reaches, why not do that? There are plenty of good examples of it working in the SPL and it could work for us again."

John Niven, Edinburgh: "If JJ can bring in his own choice of player in the summer, then I don't mind where they come from. The most important thing is that JJ has complete control over who comes and who goes –otherwise he's fighting with one hand tied behind his back. We can't afford that."

Lee Thomson, Newington: "I wouldn't be worried if JJ looked at the lower leagues when bringing in new players this summer. David Weir and Neil McCann came from the lower leagues and they were brilliant for us in 1997/98. If JJ can recreate that, it'll be a fantastic season ahead for us next season."
