Hearts' Fanzone

Rob Murray, Penicuik: "A really important win for Hearts. We've been grinding out the results recently and it was crucial that we got a win under our belts here to keep the momentum going. We started the game at a high tempo and never let St Mirren find any kind of rhythm.

"We were creating problems for them with Michael Stewart instrumental in our attacking play and it was fitting that he got the winning goal. I don't think anyone could claim that it wasn't a penalty and, as he has done so many times before this season, Stewart tucked it away well.

"After that, I thought that we continued to dominate and we probably should have had a second penalty for a foul on David Templeton, and Scott Robinson nearly got a goal for us as well. In the final 15 minutes St Mirren threw everything at us but never really looked like scoring and I thought that we held our nerve superbly.

"In the end, I think that we thoroughly deserved our win and we are capable of springing a surprise next week at Ibrox."

Paul Walker, Burdiehouse: "A good performance from a young Hearts team and a very good three points. I thought that the whole side performed really well and there are signs that the team is gelling well now. Robinson and Nade both worked really hard and the link up play between them and David Templeton was a joy to watch at times.

"I think, too, that Michael Stewart's game has been helped a lot by having Eggert Jonsson back alongside him in the middle of the park. Eggert is so good defensively and he enables Mikey to break forward at will and he is a very useful player to have in and around the penalty area.

"Csaba Laszlo has had his critics this season but once again, he is showing that he is able to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

"Hopefully, Romanov will give Csaba the help he needs to take Hearts on to the next level because I think he can take us there."

Joseph Wardlaw, Dalry: "A determined, workmanlike display from Hearts. I thought that we got at them right from the start and the only thing missing from the performance was the killer instinct that would have seen us finish the game off much, much sooner.

"However, unlike the recent wins against Falkirk and Motherwell, we created a lot of openings in this game and nobody could dispute that we were well worth the points.

"My man of the match was Scott Robinson. He is improving with every game and the wee man was outstanding here. He's obviously still a bit raw and we can't expect miracles from him but he is very promising and I hope we will see more from him in the near future.

"The only sour note was the tackle on Marius Zaliukas at the end – that should have been a straight red card because it could have been a leg breaker. Hopefully, he isn't too badly injured because he is an important player for us."
