Hearts' Fanzone

Rich Dillon, Newington: "It wasn't the greatest game of football that you'll ever see but points mean more than performances and it's another win for JJ at Tynecastle.

"I thought that we started the game well and had a great shout for a penalty waved away early on. Had we got that it could have been a different game. Hamilton came for a point and they were well organised and with our much-documented problems on the attack, it looked like it was going to be a frustrating afternoon. I thought that we started the second half the better of the two sides again but if it hadn't been for a great save by Kello, we'd have been one down. From there, we went straight up the park and got the goal through Obua. However, after that, I thought that Hamilton looked dangerous because they opened up for the first time.

"The difference between Jefferies and Laszlo is that at 1-0 up, we didn't look to shut up shop and we managed to get the second on the break. Larry Kingston did well when he came on but he needs to produce it more regularly for us to restore his relationship with the fans."

Drew Kennedy, Polwarth: "A gritty, battling display from Hearts. We did well to compete with Accies in a physical sense because they packed the midfield and it was tougher for our younger players than the game last week. Falkirk let you play football, Accies don't.

"It was a real war of attrition at times and I think that the players deserve credit for the way that they stuck to the task and, in the end, we got the result that we deserved. The big thing that I noticed in this game was that, when we worked the ball wide, we had three or four players in the area to aim for. Slowly but surely, JJ is getting the players back to an attacking mentality and it is paying dividends.

"The performances and results in the last two matches have been encouraging but we'll face a real test of our progress next week."

Kevin Lewis, Musselburgh: "A very important victory for Hearts. With Aberdeen losing on the Saturday, there was a wee bit of pressure on us to win the game and open up a wee gap between ourselves and the teams in the bottom six.

"I thought that we struggled to find any kind of rhythm and I don't think that we produced the kind of display in the first half that JJ is looking for from the team. However, I felt that we stepped up a gear after the break and had a couple of decent chances before we finally got the breakthrough.

"When the goal came, it was a really nice bit of football. When Ryan Stevenson got played in, he did well to hold the ball up and wait for players to get into the box and then he delivered a lovely ball into the area. It was a good header by Obua too. However, Accies didn't give up so the second goal was a relief.

"I'm not sure whether or not Templeton got the final touch but he put the Hamilton defence under a bit of pressure and he got his reward for that. Hopefully, we can make it three wins in a row against Aberdeen at Pittodrie."
