Hearts fans' big TV break

HEARTS are using social networking site Facebook to enlist fans for an advert for next season's new home kit.

The late summer launch of the strip will be accompanied by a major marketing drive, including a TV ad produced in partnership with STV Creative.

Marketing manager Lawrence Broadie said: "We've now produced three kit launch adverts over the last five years and they've been hugely successful. Always looking to push the boundaries, we're now using our very large following of over 7,000 'fans' on Facebook to help us in what we're planning.

"We're certainly the first football club to have used Facebook as the starting point for a TV advert, with it being our intention that supporters are involved at every stage."
