Hearts fan does demolition job on Hibs' East Terrace

A SMILING Hearts fan had the job of knocking down Hibs' famous East Terrace as work got underway to redevelop the club's ground.

Louise Burnett, 28, from Dalkeith, Midlothian, – whose family are all Hearts season ticket holders – was behind the controls of the 34-tonne excavator as it tore down the old enclosure to make way for a new 6,400 seater stand. Louise, who confessed to whistling the Hearts song as she worked, laughed: "I couldn't wait to get to work – it's brilliant.

"I've had loads of people asking me to get them photos which I'll try when we're done, but it's just a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

"There has been a few people coming to have a look and they must have a great view from the flats which look over the ground. If it were me living in there – I'd be taking a video."
