Haynes strikes late as Whitehill hold a young Raith side

A LATE Kevin Haynes penalty earned East of Scotland League Premier Division side Whitehill Welfare a 2-2 draw against a Raith Rovers XI who had former Hibs goalkeeper Andy McNeil playing as a trialist.

Whitehill who took the lead when Steve McCormack glided down the right wing and crossed for Daryl Devlin, the former Spartans striker, to convert from six yards.

The home side's lead was short lived before Raith striker Lee Bryce had a piece of good fortune when his well-struck shot rebounded from the post and hit Whitehill goalkeeper Youssef Bejaoui on the head and bounced into the net.
