Hannon has strong hopes for a High Five in Lingfield fillies’ outing

Give Me High Five improved markedly last time out and can be expected to go close on her return to Lingfield.

Richard Hannon’s filly bumped into a potentially decent newcomer in the shape of Streak but she would be unlucky to meet one that good again. Hannon is chasing down his own record of number of winners in a calendar year so he is unlikely to be running no-hopers at this stage.

She reappears in the second division of the Follow Us On Twitter @LingfieldPark Fillies’ Maiden Stakes, which certainly looks the stronger of the two heats. High Five can put her race experience to good use and get off the mark at the third time of asking.

Midnight Flower was a beaten short-priced favourite last time out but she has by far the best form on offer in the 32Red Casino Median Auction Maiden Fillies’ Stakes at Wolverhampton. David Simcock’s filly ran a nice race at Yarmouth on her debut behind a smart type in August and turned up at Dunstall Park a month later where she improved to finish second.

The winner of that race is no mug, either, so it hardly raised too many eyebrows to see her head the betting next time out.

She hit the front a fair way out and was just worried out of it close home so do not be surprised to see more patient tactics adopted this time.

Mark Johnston’s Staffhoss has recovered from a pretty serious injury to win on just his second start and should be backed to follow up in the 32Red Nursery.

Fifth of 14 at Kempton on debut, the Lucky Story colt was a cosy winner at Lingfield earlier this month.

My Tent Or Yours looks another potential star for Nicky Henderson and gets to show his class in the Mitie Kennel Gate Novices’ Hurdle at Ascot.

The form of his victory over Taquin Du Seuil was given a big boost by the runner-up, so expect his price to drop for the Supr
eme Novices’ Hurdle.

All eyes will be on Henderson’s Simonsig in the Betfred Novices’ Chase. One of the most impressive winners of the Cheltenham Festival in March, his chasing debut has been delayed by a splint problem but all is well now. Be prepared to be wowed if the reports of his schooling are to be believed.

Imjoeking bumped into a really smart horse in the shape of Morning Royalty last time out and should find things easier in Uttoxeter’s Casino At bet365 “National Hunt” Maiden Hurdle.
