Gray the younger joins his brother in a dark blue shirt

THE brother of Scotland senior side player Richie Gray will make his debut for the Scotland under-20 team on Friday, when second row Jonny Gray lines up against England at Firhill.

Another player with a senior team connection making a first start for the under 20s is inside centre Tomasso Allan of Western Province, nephew of former Scotland and South Africa hooker John Allan.

Four players return to the under-20 set-up hoping their experience will help the new blood at this age-grade level. Robin Hislop will captain the side, with Harry Leonard, Alex Allan and Mitch Eadie joining him in the starting line-up having played in last year’s competition.

Scotland coach Peter Wright said: “The England game will be a huge battle, but we have players who will bring pace and physicality to the match.”

The match offers free entry for spectators, and will also be streamed live online on RFU.com/6NStreaming.

Meanwhile, head coach Karen Findlay has opted for a blend of youth and experience in the Scotland Women team to take on England at Lasswade on Sunday.

Scrum half Louise Dalgliesh (RHC Cougars) will win her 50th cap while, at the other end of the scale, winger Sarah Dixon – who scored a debut try against the Netherlands in November 2011 – wins her second.

The team will be captained by tight-head prop Tracy Balmer, who led Scotland to the victory in Amsterdam.
