Grainger and Watkins storm into final

SCOTLAND'S Katherine Grainger and her double-sculls crew-mate Anna Watkins won their semi-final yesterday at the Rowing World Cup finals in Lucerne, alongside another nine British crews that were successful in yesterday's semi-finals.

This victory means that Grainger and Watkins will once again race in two finals today as, along with Annie Vernon and Beth Rodford, they qualified directly on Friday for today's quadruple sculls final.

The Australian crew that Grainger and Watkins beat in their opening heat on Friday won the other semi. This is the third time this season Grainger will attempt to win both double and quad sculls.
