Graham Wilson welcomes Welsh test

HERIOT'S skipper Graham Wilson is looking forward to welcoming Neath to Goldenacre this afternoon (2pm) as the Scottish Cup holders' British & Irish Cup campaign gets up and running again, writes Gary Heatly.

Their start in the new event was in November, with an encouraging 5-0 home loss to English Championship side Nottingham. It was followed up, however, with a 57-12 defeat at Coventry.

In the last three weeks, Heriot's have notched up 111 points against Melrose, Stewart's Melville and Watsonians on domestic league and cup duty, scoring good tries in the process.

The captain said: "Although we lost the first two matches they were good experiences and it was great for us as players to test ourselves at a higher level. The Neath match will be tough, but these are the kind of games that all of us want to be playing in."
