Trump joins with Chandler in bid to attract events

IN AN interesting marriage between two colourful characters, Donald Trump has joined forces with Andrew “Chubby” Chandler’s management company with a brief to “attract significant golfing events to Trump International Golf Links” in Aberdeen.

Announcing the new partnership, Trump said: “We have recently completed what many consider to be the greatest golf course anywhere in the world. Because of its tremendous success, we have also submitted
a layout, also designed by Dr Martin Hawtree, for a second links course.

“Having ‘Chubby’ represent us on the championship course will not only be lots of fun, but also of great benefit to the people of Aberdeen and Scotland itself.”

Chandler, whose ISM clients include Lee Westwood, Darren Clarke, Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel, added: “This is a great opportunity for us to work with a fantastic brand.

“When a player as big as Mr Trump wants to get involved then we have to encourage him as much as possible. Our meetings so far have convinced me just how passionate he is about the game.”

The pair’s objectives could include staging Scotland’s first WGC event at Trump’s course.
