Six Scots to tee up at Turnberry for Women’s Open

Laing, who had missed the cut at Dundonald Links after two bitterly disappointing rounds of 79, joined the Comrie player after surviving a six-strong play-off got the last four places.

Hide AdHaving earlier signed for a 74, the Musselburgh woman secured her place in Thursday’s starting line-up by making a par-4 at the first extra hole.
The duo join Catriona Matthew, Pamela Pretswell, Kylie Walker and Sally Watson, all of whom had secured exemptions for the LGU’s flagship event.
England’s Charlotte Ellis topped the qualifying with a 69 while Swedish amateur Linnea Strom came through the play-off along with compatriot Minea Blomqvist and Linnea Strom and England’s Rebecca Hudson.
