Scottish trio secure title

add the PGAs of Europe International Championship to the impressive list of team triumphs involving Scottish golfers this season.

Represented by David Orr (Mearns Castle), David Patrick (Elie Sports Centre) and Gareth Wright (West Linton), Scotland wrapped up that title in impressive style yesterday at Palmares in Portugal. Patrick’s one-under 71 and a 73 from Orr were their counting scores on the final day, giving the Tartan Tour trio a nine-shot victory with a
16-under-par total of 560.

The success comes on the back of Scotland’s amateurs winning the men’s Home Internationals, Paul Lawrie helping Europe win the Ryder Cup and Pamela Prestswell being in the triumphant GB&I Curtis Cup team.
