Neil Fenwick denied John Henry a second success in three events on the new Tartan Pro Tour by winning a play-off in the Pollok Open after Sam Locke squandered a six-shot overnight lead.

Fenwick, who is attached to Dunbar, triumphed at the fifth extra hole at the Glasgow venue after the pair had both carded 68s for the second day running to finish with six-under-par totals.

Henry, who won the Scottish Par-3 Championship in Aberdeen last month, had covered the last five holes in four-under to earn his place in the shoot-out.

Former Amateur champion Bradley Neil (70-67) finished a shot behind in third alongside Calum Fyfe (68-69), with Locke having to settle for a share of fifth spot on four-under.

Locke started the day with a six-shot lead following a blistering 62 on Thursday and was still three shots in front despite going out in two-over 38. However, his hopes of adding to his win in the inaugural event at Carnoustie last month were dashed by a bogey and double-bogey in the last four holes leaving him signing for a 76.

Chris Maclean, winner of the third event at Dornoch earlier in the week, finished in a tie for sixth on three-under, one ahead of the circuit’s founder Paul Lawrie (72).

The penultimate event, the St Andrews Classic, takes place new week before the Rowallan Castle Championship brings the circuit to a close the following week.
