Jack McDonald and Rebecca Gibbs streaking ahead

British Universities’ Championship: Stirling’s Jack McDonald leads the men’s division by five shots while Rebecca Gibbs (Kingston) is four strokes clear in the women’s section as the BUCS Student Tour Championship Finals go into their fourth and final round over the Craighead Links course at Crail Golfing Society today.McDonald is in a one-over-par 73 groove.

He opened with that score on Tuesday and had two more of the same yesterday in the second and third rounds to lead with a three-over-par tally of 219. He increased his first-round lead by one to six shots.

Gibbs was four under par for the day with rounds of 70 (-4) and 74 (level).

Her rounds included 13 birdies, which were the results of some excellent chipping and putting.
