Henderson earns PGA Cup spot in play–off

PGA PLAY-OFFS: Hours of practice on the range paid off for Scott Henderson when he won a play-off with two fellow Tartan Tour regulars at the Titleist PGA Play-Offs to clinch a spot in next year’s Great Britain and Ireland PGA Cup team.

The Kings Links Golf Centre player fired a brilliant third round four-under-par 67 at Turkey’s Antalya Golf Club to tie for third alongside Greig Hutcheon (Banchory) and Gareth Wright (West Linton) behind winner Richard Wallis (Walmer & Kingsdown) and runner up David Higgins (Waterville Links). “It’s an honour to be able to play in the PGA Cup,” said Henderson.

Hutcheon, who had been targeting one of the three PGA Cup spots, rued a double-bogey on the last when he found
water off the tee but he came through the subsequent sudden death play-off.
