Golf: Old but gold

JUST under 200 players took part in the Albert Russell Trophy, Liberton's popular Texas scramble for seniors.

"We had 62 teams from 35 different clubs, some from as far afield as Hilton Park, Carluke and Carnwath," said Liberton's seniors' secretary John Glen. "This has always been a very popular event and has now been going for nearly 15 years."

The main prizes were won by teams from Baberton (handicap) and Kingsknowe (scratch) and the list of winners is published in the Club Returns on this page.
