A first unproductive Challenge Tour campaign since 2006 has now been followed by the failure of any Scots to be among the card recipients at the Qualifying School in Spain.

Needing to be in the top 25 and ties at the PGA Catalunya Resort in Girona, Duncan Stewart finished 43rd while Peter Whiteford and Scott Henry ended up 52nd and 71st respectively.

The Scottish contingent for next season will now be eight – three fewer than this year.

Seven players – Stephen Gallacher, Marc Warren, Richie Ramsay, Chris Doak, Scott Jamieson, Craig Lee and David Drysdale – finished inside the top 110 on this season’s money list.

The eighth, Paul Lawrie, kept his card through sitting 27th on the career money list.
