Golf: Scots scrap for cards

former Gullane Assistant Professional Heather MacRae, Carly Booth, 18, Pamela Feggans and Clare Queen are in the field of 93 players chasing 20 full cards at the final stage of the Ladies European Tour qualifying school at La Manga in Spain.

After four rounds over the North and South courses, the field will be cut to the top 50 and they will then face a final-day battle for the right to earn a place on the 2011 Tour.

Booth, from Comrie, and Ayrshire's Feggans finished 98th and 110th respectively on this season's LET Order of Merit and just missed out on retaining their cards, while Queen and MacRae came through the pre-qualifying stage at La Manga two weeks ago.

MacRae, a former Scottish amateur internationalist, is a PGA qualified pro and is now based at Downfield Golf Club, Dundee.
