Golf: Rorke reward

JIM TELFER, a member of the host club, joined forces with Kingsknowe's Kate Rorke to claim the scratch spoils in the Prestonfield Mixed Open.

They shot a 78 to win, with the handicap going to Ali Gibb (Falkirk) and Jacky Fotheringham (Grangemouth) on 67.

Stuart Ross (Turnhouse) and Gillian Carter (Broomieknowe) were second on 67.5, with Alan McEwan (Prestonfield) and Hilary Wallace (Newbattle) claiming third on 68.5 by virtue of a better inward half.
