Golf: No change yet for Scottish Am

POSSIBLE changes to the format for the Scottish Amateur Championship won't be made until next year at the earliest, writes MARTIN DEMPSTER.

The Scottish Golf Union is looking at the possibility of introducing stroke-play qualifying to allow players to pick up world amateur ranking points but this year's event at Gullane will be unchanged.

"It is a case of looking at what works out best in terms of the world rankings but it will take time to put in place so it's not going to happen this year," said the SGU's CEO, Hamish Grey.
