Scotland comprehensively defeated by Wales

BOYS HOME INTERNATIONALS: Scotland went into the record books for all the wrong reasons in the Boys Home International Championship at Royal St David's. They were crushed 9.5-5.5 by Wales but the Scots did not win a singles match after leading 4-1 following the foursomes- that is believed never to have happened before in the history of the event. England won the title.

Alexander Wilson the winner of Merchants Cup

ST ANDREWS BOYS OPEN: Portmarnock's Alexander Wilson, 28th of the 32 qualifiers for the match-play stages of the St Andrews Boys Open tournament, improved round by round and won the Merchants Cup by one hole against Craigielaw's Willem Kerr, the sixth seed, in yesterday's final over the Old Course. The boys' open handicap competition for the Murray Mitchell Trophy was won by Callum Cochrane.

Fraser Mann shoots 67 to take Panmure title

PANMURE PRO-AM: European Senior Tour player Fraser Mann (Musselburgh) showed he could still more than hold his own against the younger brigade of the Tartan Tour by winning the first prize of 1,105 in the Panmure Golf Club pro-am.

Mann shot a three-under-par 67 to win by one stroke from David Patrick (Elie Sports club), Andrew Oldcorn (Kings Acre) and Stephen Gray (Hayston) who each earned 681.
