Golf: New Uphall role for Law

GORDON LAW, the club's long-serving professional, has also now taken on the duties of club manager at Uphall.

"I've been doing both jobs now for the past five weeks and it's something I think you are going to see more and more of at clubs," said the former Scottish PGA champion.

"A lot of clubs are struggling and the reason I decided to take on the club manager's role as well is that it is in the best interests of everyone if I can use my experience to make things better."

Law was pleased with an entry of close to 90 for the club's Cameron Bowl at the weekend, when Greenburn's Gary Corrigan won the Lothians Order of Merit event.

He shot a level-par 69 in tough conditions to pip the host club's Graeme Stevenson and Pumpherston's Paul Drake by a single stroke.
