Golf: MyGolfRanking system available to Lothians clubs

GOLF clubs in the Lothians are being encouraged to give their members the chance to compete in a Race to Dubai-style ranking event.

MyGolfRanking is a ranking system that was trialled mainly
in Fife last year and is now
being rolled out globally by its creator, David Moir.

“Order-of-merit competitions are great for clubs and members as they boost participation levels,” said Colin McClung, the club manager at Swanston New and involved in the recently-
announced Edinburgh golf initiative. “With the growth of internet use and TV coverage of events like the Race to Dubai and FedEx Cup, there is a real demand for similar events at a club level.

“Until now, the ability to compare yourself against golfers at other clubs has been limited to team players, county or national squad ‘plus’ handicap golfers, but, with MyGolfRanking, this is now available to all club golfers of any ability. At Swanston, we’re even considering replacing our own internal Order-of-Merit competitions with MyGolf
Ranking tables.”
