Golf: Morris has minor edge in Alliance

KINGSKNOWE pro Chris Morris holds a slender lead in the Edinburgh & East of Scotland Alliance Order of Merit heading into a short mid- season break.

He has amassed 327 points and is being chased hard by both Turnhouse pro Scott Grieve (322.5) and Greenburn's Scott Catlin (317).

The latter has improved his position significantly after winning at Eyemouth last week.

The handicap event is also close, with Lothianburn's George Wither (88) just ahead of Glenbervie's Graeme Johnston (87) and Glencorse's Stuart Brown (86.5).

The next outing is January 12 over Gullane No.?3.
