Golf: McIntosh win

THE mother and daughter pairing of Caroline and Kate McIntosh from Broomieknowe claimed both the scratch and handicap honours in the Midlothian County Ladies' Midsummer Foursomes at Liberton.

They shot a scratch 73, four-over-par for a net 64, finishing a shot ahead of Glencorse duo Maureen Stewart and Jane Browitt in the handicap.

Five other pairings, including three from the host club, qualified for the final of the Commonwealth Spoons at Cathkin Braes in September.
