Golf: Lothians pip foes Angus in annual match

LOTHIANS pipped Angus in an annual friendly at Ballumbie Castle thanks to wins at the bottom of the singles order from two seasoned campaigners.

Team captain Mark Timmins and Keith Reilly delivered crucial points in the 8-7 win after the pair had joined forces earlier in the day to also taste victory in the foursomes.

Craigielaw's Ross Noon, the Lothians Order of Merit leader, was another double winner. He won his foursomes with Longniddry's Chris Wood then chalked up a 4 and 3 success in the singles.
