Golf: Laing in hunt for Wales title

Musselburgh's Vikki Laing was the first-round leader on 70 and her follow-up 74 on another day of windy conditions saw her tied for third at the halfway stage of the S4C Wales' Ladies' Championship of Europe at Conwy.

The 29-year-old Scot began her second round with a nervy run of bogeys at the second and sixth and a double-bogey at the seventh. But she bounced back with four birdies before making another slip with a six at the par four 17th.

On level par at halfway, she was alongside England's Melissa Reid, who fired a great 68, and just two shots behind the leader, Sweden's Carin Koch.

Koch fired a great 68 with the aid of five birdies and led by one from Dutch star Christel Boeljon, who posted a fine 72.
