Golf: Kingsfield is the stage for future

RISING golf stars in the Lothians are being given the chance to learn from some of Scotland’s top young professionals.

It follows a flag event event
being run by the Stephen Gallacher Foundation becoming a texas scramble junior pro-am. The tournament is being held at Kingsfield Golf Club at Linlithgow on April 14 and will see 20 young PGA of Scotland professionals partnering
Foundation players.

“Through our relationship with Kingsfield and because of the great work done by Stephen’s Foundation in the
Lothians, we felt that it would be of benefit to the kids taking part to experience playing alongside a PGA professional,” said PGA of Scotland secretary Michael MacDougall. “The fun format and experience of playing alongside talented young professionals may well inspire the next generation of top-class Scottish golfer and that is something the PGA have a responsibility and desire to help achieve.”

Gallacher, the recently-crowned Dubai Desert Classic champion, has seen his Foundation go from strength to strength since it was launched last year.

“The work being done by Stephen’s Foundation – Paul Lawrie’s too – is great for the game,” added MacDougall. “Our young professionals can share with the children their knowledge and experiences to date.”
