Golf: Harper one-under going into last round

ARCHERFIELD ace Lee Harper was leading the Lothians contingent heading into the third and final round of the PGA EuroPro Tour qualifying school at Frilford Heath today.

Harper followed his opening 72 with a 71 to sit tied 30th on one-under-par. He signed for six birdies and was out in 32 but had a double-bogey and two bogeys on his inward journey.

Fellow Archerfield player Zack Saltman was tied for 42nd on 144 (73, 71), two shots ahead of Craigielaw's Shaun McAllister (74, 72).

Recovering well from a 78 in the opening round, Swanston's John Gallagher fired a one-under-par 70 to make the cut on four-over.

But, lying in a tie for 113th, the former Scottish amateur champion needed to shoot the lights out in his final round to make a serious climb up the leaderboard.

Chris Kelly was the leading Scot going into the final round, the Cawder player lying six shots behind leader Max Brackley on three-under.
