Golf: Get counting

NEXT month's Silverknowes Open is a new counting event for the Lothians Order of Merit, which has been reinstated this year at the request of players.

Carrick Neill have stepped in to sponsor the rankings and, in addition to the Lothians Championship qualifying, points will also be up for grabs in Opens at Uphall, Newbattle, Gullane, Turnhouse, Duddingston, Royal Musselburgh, Bathgate and Longniddry.

Uphall's event, the 18-hole Cameron Bowl, is on Sunday week and places are available.
