Golf: Gallagher's on course

Swanston's John Gallagher is on course to pass stage one of the European Tour's qualifying school at Ebreichsdorf in Austria.

The former Scottish Amateur champion posted a two-under 70 for a four-under 212 to cement his place in the top-five with a round to play.

Gallagher sits in a share of fifth spot, seven shots behind Swedish leader Niclas Johansson, with the top 14 players after 72 holes progressing to stage two of the q-school marathon in November.
