Golf: Fairlie's exit

LOUIS FAIRLIE is retiring as secretary/manager at Kingsknowe at the end of next month after nine-and-a-half years at the club.

Farlie, who succeeded Bert Wallace but has seen the role take on a lot more responsibility since then, will hand over the reins to Richard McLuckie, the current club manager at Linlithgow.

"I'm looking forward to being able to play a bit more golf myself," said Fairlie, whose son-in-law, Allyn Dick, is the newly-crowned Lothians champion.
