Golf: Dunbar win County Cup

DUNBAR won the County Cup for the fourth time after beating Bass Rock in a thrilling final at Luffness New.

The double foursome title showdown was all square after 18 holes and Dunbar eventually came out on top at the second extra hole.

The back couple of Angus Massie and Gary Queen secured the win, but over the course of the three-day event team-mates Stephen Neilson and Danny Kay also played their part.

Dunbar's last win in the East Lothian event had also come at Luffness New in 1998.

In two closely-fought semi-finals, Dunbar beat Gullane 3 and 1, while Bass Rock, who were bidding to add to their impressive haul of 20 wins in the event, beat Royal Musselburgh 2 and 1.
