Golf: Centenary fun

LOTHIANBURN Ladies are celebrating a significant milestone on Monday - the start of their centenary - by turning back the clock.

They held their first meeting on April 25, 1911, and will mark the occasion by playing a Hickory Challenge over two holes on the Capital course. Others events planned include an invitation shotgun tournament, an outing, a 'Final Flourish' and, of course, the Centenary Dinner.

"Let's hope the Ladies of 1911 enjoyed themselves as much as the Ladies of 2011 intend to in their memory," said ladies' captain Hazel Carpenter.
