Golf: Catlin nets Alliance win

GREENBURN'S Scott Catlin claimed the scratch spoils in the Edinburgh & East of Scotland Alliance event at Craigielaw.

Catlin shot a 70 to win by a stroke from Whitekirk's Paul Wardell, Stevie Lamb from Broomieknowe and Duddingston's Tom Buchanan.

In the handicap section, Glenbervie's Richard Johnston won with a net 69, which also saw him lift the Tom Galloway Trophy as overall winner. He finished a shot ahead of Dunbar's Wilson Morton and Alan Devlin of Pumpherston, closely followed by Dunbar's Ian Jeavons on 71 and Scott Knowles of Kingsknowe on 72.

Terry Mathieson (Kings Acre) was top trainee on 73, with Duddingston's Ian Fraser securing the seniors' spoils with a net 72.
