Golf: Callum Macaulay slips off pace in Kenya after costly 76

CALLUM Macaulay, two shots off the lead after an opening 67, dropped well down the field after requiring nine shots more in the second round of the Kenya Open in Nairobi. The former Scottish amateur champion from Tulliallan failed to register a single birdie and, on one-over for the tournament, found himself eight off the pace at the halfway stage.

Scott Jamieson (71), Jamie McLeary (73) and Lloyd Saltman (70) are also on one-over going into the final two rounds, but Jack Doherty (73) and Alan McLean (72) missed out on three-over and four-over respectively.

Local hero Ali Kimani shot the round of his life – a 65 featuring eight birdies – to lead by two strokes from English duo Robert Dinwiddie, Oliver Fisher and Germany's Bernd Ritthammer.
